Anthology Architecture and Design Festival 2017 explores Context and Intent by bringing top global practitioners to Manila



Anthology Architecture and Design Festival 2017 is a three-day celebration of architecture and design to be held on March 31 to April 2, 2017 at the Puerta del Parian in the historic walled city of Intramuros, Manila, Philippines. Over 80 leading practitioners from the Philippines and abroad shall lead the lectures, workshops, talks, and dialogues with over 3,000 architects, designers, and students from around the country.

The festival serves as a platform to connect various practitioners and stakeholders and aims to increase awareness about the relevance of architecture and design in the Philippines and our urban societies. With the theme "Context and Intent", it explores the origins, evolutions, and relations of architecture and design, and delves into the various dispositions, agenda, and motivations of current process and practice that drives architectural intent as it seeks to move forward in the 21st century.

The pilot edition of Anthology Festival with the theme “Stories About Architecture” was held in June 2016 at Plaza de Roma, Intramuros, Manila. It was participated by over 60 leading architects from the Philippines as well as from Hong Kong, South Korea, France, The Netherlands, United Kingdom, and Canada and was attended by over 2,000 guests.

Anthology Architecture and Design Festival Manila is an annual event that provides a platform for the showcase of architecture and design in the Philippines. The programs are participated by leading architects and designers from all over the world resulting to a rich multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural discourses which seeks to explore new and better ideas.


About the event
Anthology Architecture and Design Festival is an annual non-profit event organized by WTA Architecture + Design Studio. Proceeds shall be used to sponsor projects of the Intramuros Administration and a chosen charitable institution within the area.
